Personal Information:
I previously taught at the University of Bedfordshire. There, I taught general, business and academic English, and helped students prepare for their Cambridge exams. Now, I can help you prepare for job interviews or learn the specific words you need for your career. I provide a calm and professional space to practise. Let’s work together so you can stop 'translating' in your head and start speaking naturally!
I understand that every learner has a different style, so I'm very happy to adapt our lessons to suit you. If you'd prefer me to lead the way, I'll create a structured plan. Usually, this involves a 'topic of the day.' We'll start with a comprehension exercise to build your understanding, followed by an in-depth conversation to practice what you've learnt.
I love using variety to keep things interesting. In some sessions, we'll use a question-and-answer format to help you think quickly. In others, we'll dive into a recent news article or listen to a short podcast. We'll work on vocabulary development exercises together, and then I'll ask for your personal opinions on the topic. It's a great way to practise expressing your thoughts clearly.
However, if you've studied English for a long time and simply want to keep up your fluency, we can focus entirely on conversation. I'm a very flexible tutor. Please don't worry if we go 'off-topic' during our talk. Sometimes the most natural and helpful conversations happen this way! As long as you're practising your English and feeling confident, I'm happy to follow your lead.
Finally, I’d like to share more about my professional background. I have a Master’s Degree in Applied Linguistics. I also hold a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certificate, which has given me the practical tools to help students from all over the world.
As a lifelong learner of German myself, I’m very patient. I know how it feels to look for the right word, and I’m here to support you every step of the way
