Personal Information:
After teaching in north Wales for 12 years, I became a tutor and shortly afterwards moved to Pembrokeshire in 2012 where I established my company Pembrokeshire Tuition. I live near Haverfordwest and Milford Haven, but have taught many students all over the county, so I'm fully prepared to travel, teach at my home or online. I tutor 24/7 and am very flexible, so can teach weekly, fortnightly or when short bursts of tuition are required.

I am a highly experienced teacher/tutor and it is very important to me that I provide confidence to students as well as the tools that will help them to succeed in whatever subjects they want support with. I have worked with a wide range of ages and abilities, often tutoring students with SEND. Regularly making my own resources, I take an enormous amount of care to ensure that my sessions are fun, engaging and varied, with the emphasis on positivity all the time. I have witnessed all too often how negativity can deeply affect students, so it is my mantra to praise even the smallest improvements and efforts.

As well as the importance of building a good rapport with students, I always like to know the areas of the subject that they want to specifically work on, alongside areas that I see as important for their development. Crucially, I ensure that topics are recapped at regular intervals and that once key skills are established, they are then revisited in past paper questions if exams are involved.

Finally, and as I often remind students, remembering how to do things comes through understanding how to do them. Also, nothing is easy until you know how to do it. Building confidence and not being judgemental are key building blocks in educating students, as well as doing all this with a good sense of humour.
