As with all languages GCSE Punjabi involves the learning of four major fundamental areas. These are listening, reading, speaking, reading and writing Punjabi. Vocabulary, communication, grammar & linguistic structure is a key element involved in the study of GCSE Punjabi. Vocabulary for descriptions of key topic areas including life in the town and countryside as well as weather, travel and transport are required. Because vocabulary learning is a key feature of obtaining a good grade, Punjabi vocabulary focuses on all other major communication topics of everyday life. These range from holidays and services customs and traditions, education and training to employment and home and daily routine. Vocabulary and grammar involving entertainment topics such as media, fitness, health and social activities are also on the specification. GCSE Punjabi is assessed by examination and coursework
AS-Level & A2-Level Punjabi deals with the interpretation & translation of key areas. These include everyday topics that we use in communication such as food, diet, health, current affairs, the media, relationships, social issues, leisure, education and training. The scope of vocabulary extends beyond that of GCSE in that other topics are covered such as employment, business and industry, environment, citizenship, politics, customs and traditions and beliefs.
Assessment for both AS-Level and A-Level involves four exams in total, dealing with listening, reading, writing and speaking Punjabi
Punjabi can also be studied for recreational, travel and business purposes including Punjabi lessons and help for or Adults & Children, Literature, Writing & Spelling.
